I also like that 1 game is over in about 2 minutes and we can play with the younger children as well when we do teams.When she is older we will start her on the game set and speed, but for now this is a great introduction into playing a fast paced game that teaches thinking skills. This is a great game for teaching observation skills and beginning "test taking". My 5 year old received this as a gift this year. Not only is it fun to learn, I know she is also learning something that will help her later in life at the same time.
Maybe that's changed. Actually, it's not a "kid" game; adults can have just as much fun.
at least my old set was a standard quality deck - and it comes in a metal case. I disagree with one reviewer who thought the cards were "thin" and cheap.
I forget where I learned of this game, but once we got it, we started buying it for every kid's birthday party. My kids have been playing it with us for several years and we all still love it.
Get an extra one - also try "Set" and "My Word". At the time, no one had heard of it.
The game is simple enough that a 4-year-old can learn it as fast as an adult, even if they can't slap their cards down as fast.
It is fun to gloat when I can manage to beat her, which is seldom. My 3rd grade daughter loves to play Blink. As for learning, it is sort of limited to teaching sorting and classifying skills.but it's still great fun for those of us who have mastered the concepts. One rule worth enforcing is that, if anyone goes too fast and the cards go every which way, there needs to be a time out or they could also be made to forfeit the game. She got it for Christmas last year and we have been playing on and off since. She is possibly Blink world-champion material.
It's intended to be a 2-player game, but we've played it with 3 and 4 players. We play 2 or 3 games and we're done. Clean up is a snap. This card game is great, because the rules are simple and it's educational: the first person to use all of his/her cards wins; you play cards that match by color, shape, or number (1 through 5 images on each card). (I don't recommend it for all 5-year-olds, but if you know one who can count to 5 in their heads and is comfortable with various shapes and colors, then they should be able to play this game). She's not fast, but she gets the concept, and I've noticed she has increased in her ability to match and she's become quicker. My 5-year-old is able to play it. It's a quick game (usually 2 minutes or so), so you don't lose their attention.
i felt jipped. i spent [.].on this card game, and i was severely disappointed. save your money on this and use a regular card deck. if you want a fast paced, fun card game that you CAN'T play with a regular deck of cards, go buy PIT. it's just spit with special cards. these cards are thin, barely coated, and NOT durable.
